Let’s just start by saying that we can not possibly top Lady Gaga arriving at the Grammy Awards in an egg. So if you’re expecting anything as good, just stop reading right now.
If you’re still there…We did sniff out a little advance scoop today at the DNKY show. We chatted it up with Brie Downey, a lovely fellow Angeleno who happens to be an assistant to longtime L.A.-based celebrity stylist Jessica Paster.
Downey is in town to help dress Paster’s client, Emily
Blunt, for the New York premiere tomorrow night of “The Adjustment Bureau,” her new film with Matt Damon. The dish is that Blunt will be wearing an Elie Saab dress from his spring couture collection. (*Fashion disclaimer: This is subject to change at a moment’s notice, whim or wardrobe malfunction.)
Downey was at DKNY to get ideas for for Paster’s roster of clients — Blunt, the Fanning sisters, Christina Appelgate, Annette Benning, Andrea Riseborough, Greta Gerwig, Rebecca Romijn and more.
DKNY is a go-to fave for Paster, and Downey loved the fall collection they showed today. “We use DKNY a lot for The Fanning sisters and Emily [Blunt],” said Downey. “It’s great for their appearances on talk shows and other press junkets.”
Show she loved the most for their clients’ red-carpet affairs: Prabal Gurung. “The clothes were so beautiful. This guy will be hard to beat!”
Secret stylist tip: “Foot Petals, shoe inserts, is our biggest secret. If a girl is comfortable in what she’s able to walk in, she will exude confidence!”
Stay tuned for more extended DKNY coverage and photos.
