Sometimes it’s easy to forget that fashion week happens outside of the big four (that’d be New York, London, Milan and Paris — and the cycle’s set to start in just a few month), but Oscar-winner Hilary Swank looked great as she attended the Marc Cain fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin.
The actress paired a bold graphic skirt — a huge trend for the summer that you should definitely keep for the fall — with a simple, sleek blouse. The look is something that looks prim without looking precious and is a look that anyone can wear, whether they’re headed to a photo call or just doing the 9-5 grind at the office. By keeping things simple, Swank really let the skirt steal the spotlight. And while not all of us have a designer sending us straight-from-the-runway looks, we’ve gathered together everything you need to channel Swank’s chic look and add a little bit of your own personality, too.
Going graphic is easy when you keep the rest of your outfit relatively simple. The Lauren Ralph Lauren Polka-Dot Skirt ($81.75) might not have the same oversized dots as Swank’s Marc Cain skirt, but it’s still got plenty of impact.
With an easy-to-wear shape and the perfect not-too-long length (not to mention it’ll flatter just about every body type), it’s a great wear-to-work option that won’t look too stuffy when you clock out and head out for some after-hours fun.

1. We told you they were versatile. Pair any a Equipment Slim Signature Shirt ($204) with just about anything and you’re sure to be chic. Tucked into a skirt, every fashion editor’s go-to blouse looks extra polished.
2. We’re sure Swank has a glam squad at her disposal, but to get the look of her easy, undone curls try the clamp-less Sephora Collection Sculpt Curling Iron ($40), which will keep you clear of looking like a toddler in tiara.
3. No-fuss makeup is Swank’s MO, so slick on a layer of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Silky Sensual Lipstick ($35). The balmy, sheer color keeps your lips moisturized and imparts just a hint of a hue. We’re partial to the peach (and so is Swank), but the whole range is wearable and super comfortable.
4. Plain pumps don’t have to be boring. The Stuart Weitzman Nouveau Pump ($385) adds just a touch of texture to basic black so you’re sure to get a few second looks.
