While some beauty lines throw new products on the shelves just about every week — we won’t name any names — Clarins, the storied and chic French beauty giant, does things a little differently. Twenty-seven years ago, they debuted their Double Serum, and instead of replacing it with new products, they’ve changed the formulation six times since the product first appeared.
In the latest iteration, the company launched a new formula and a new delivery system. The dual-phase formula, which dispenses from a two-chambered pump, is 30% lipids and 70% moisture, which just so happens to be the makeup of your skin. The blend of plant extracts (the formula boasts 20 all together) includes macadamia nut and kiwi for suppleness, burdock and marshmallow for hydration and pine and arnica to boost radiance. The serum also addresses green banana and hops to restore elasticity and quinoa and pistachio for anti-aging. If the ingredients sound familiar, they should — each and every one is a superfood that’s good for your health and, as it turns out, good for your skin, too.
