It was only a matter of time before California girl Rachel Zoe went to the well of inspiration and came back with a bit of Slim Aarons. It’s not a stretch to imagine her boho babes heading to Palm Springs for a getaway. After all, the ultimate celebration of modern bohemia, Coachella, is just a few minutes away from Palm Springs proper. For spring 2018, Zoe combined her usual go-tos and amped up the fun, summer vibes with a dash of Aaron’s signature polish.
Zoe’s loyal customers will find plenty to add to their closets, including flowing, wide-leg pants done in coral and crisp white, along with sleek, no-nonsense tops that toe the line between a crop top and a shell. It’s a perfect combination of work-ready, desk-to-dinner demure and flirty fun, offering up peeks of skin. The California desert offered up earthy colors and sunset hues, but Zoe added bursts of print and cool white.

While there were some looser looks, Zoe’s penchant for tailoring didn’t go anywhere. A chambray short suit was a huge attention-grabber, especially from the cadre of celebs in attendance during the designer’s Sunset Tower presentation. Aarons’ artwork came through in a palm print, studded with shimmering sequins because Zoe has always been about a more is more feel. It was on plenty of pieces, so fans looking for just a taste of it could pick up a top and anyone who falls head-over-heels for the summer-ready pattern can opt for a full maxi.
Zoe also took the opportunity to introduce editors and celebs to the Wedding Edit, a capsule collection of wedding looks. Not content to rule the world of contemporary fashion, accessories, shoes, and handbags, she’s expanding her label to include something for brides-to-be, too. With so many people already succumbing to the siren song of Zoe’s bohemain luxe, it was only a matter of time before she decided to go all-out with the brand extensions.
